I bought another one as backup after using my original for over a year. Excellent detail, able to see license plates clearly and wide field of view. I like the automatic date/time and GPS coordinates. I was concerned because the unit runs really hot and I thought it might fail being baked in a hot car, but so far has proved very reliable. Night low-light performance is surprisingly good too-

I could not view any video on two windows computers and the MacBook Pro would only work on lower quality video. no way to view on 4k. came out X-ray and freezing frames. VTL video format did not work as well. I called customer service. I kept getting this girl who was maybe ten years old and replied oh I sorry to hear that. I called five times same message. I returned the dash cam. very disappointing.

These cams are great. THey give good resolution and have excellent wide dynamic range, which is good for night. I have 3 of these. In one car, I have one in the front, and one in the rear. The other car, just one in front.
When I want video from these cams, I NEVER download using their app. I take the SD card out, put it in the computer (or a mobile device with a OTG card reader) and play the video with VLC. Works great, and I don’t need to fool around with someone’s app. You also get speed on the video. The app is only useful when you want to get tracking position as well as the video/speed, and downloading via wifi is pain. I can’t speak to the app tracking you because I don’t use the app. As far as I know, MOST apps track you, and even if you don’t use any apps, your cell carrier can track you via cell tower triangulation.

Received as a Christmas gift. The sd card it came with is one of the brands that the FAQ online says may cause problems. I have issues with the camera reformatting randomly but that’s not too bad for me. The real issue is that the app that is features is NO LONGER AVAILABLE in the Canadian Apple store and I have NO WAY to actually connect to the camera anymore to retrieve the videos off of it.
I did reach out to support directly, was sent a response showing the GOOGLE app store instead and then completely ghosted on contact.

Called support multiple times and left messages for a return call. NOTHING. Records fine, app downloaded fine, but won’t backup any files you want to keep. Unhandy for a paper weight and not big enough for a boat anchor. Total waste of money!
