Everything about this product is well executed, however, sliding the cover back on was a major chore. After an hour of trying and a night’s sleep, I approached the problem again. The black video cable coming from the camera is too thick to route the way they have it. I removed the cover and taped the cables along the edges, and Bingo, 45 minutes later it snapped on. What a sweet sound. OMG. That was tough.

After I installed it, lane departure system not available or working anymore. The message keeps saying “lane departure system not available”! .
I think the whole fixcam camera is blocking the censor/camera on the rear view mirror.
Unfortunately this item is not returnable!
But the camera is good resolution and easy to installed. It did work on my seinna 2023, not on prius 2019!

I have had two of these camera now for more that 1 and half year. I got two cameras, for both of my cars. The idea is really great. They fit very well on the car, they dont look like extra accessories on the car. They just look like a part of the car, I love that aspect. However it DOESN’T perform its main function TAKING IMAGES AND VIDEO in a loop. It took the videos but when the card was full it doesn’t erase old and replace with new one. Even after making sure the settings and everything was set correctly. I have a cheap and not fancy as this camera and it does the job very well, I just do like it hanging on my dash that’s what I installed these but didn’t work at all. They are still on my car but I am planning to take them off and find something similar.

I saw an alternative installation video on how to put this in on YouTube. Basically, I just pushed at the top firmly on both sides and the original plastic cover slides down about an inch. Then you just put your fingers in the top plate that comes off and it will pop off with a firm pull. Be careful to support the entire plastic piece when you do this so nothing breaks.
The entire physical installation took about 5 minutes. Playing with it afterwards another 10 or so to set it up. Those who have expressed an issue with poor image or video quality must not have chosen the higher quality settings for each in the smartphone app. I could easily read license plate numbers of other cars off the recorded videos.
I will buy and install a 128GB micro SD card, 64GB seems a bit small and a one minute video can be 175MB, so you are on a 30-60 minute loop and the older video clips get written over unless you save them using the smartphone download or a direct transfer to your computer using the usb adapter for the micro SD card ( included ) Overall a terrific buy and looks like a factory option

The software could use some improvement, but it’s still the best option on the market for something that looks OEM without an overly complicated install.
Camera quality is fine. Not the best on the market, but perfectly decent for most use.

First, let me say that I am a big proponent of dashcams. I think all cars should come standard with them. But they don’t. A dashcam saved me thousands in repairs due to capturing a hit and run. In my other cars I have used non-OEM dashcams, and you wind up wiring them all over the car and using a suction cup to stick it to the windshield.
This dashcam is made to fit right into your rear-view mirror molding and it works great. Installation took me about 20 minutes, but I also found videos on the internet in addition to the ones provided in the app by the manufacturer.
The video quality is good and the app is ok, but once you set up the camera, you can avoid using the app by just removing the SD memory card from the device and watching the videos on your computer. This is also how you would get video out of the device in the event of a serious accident where you can no longer start the car.
This is a great way to go if you have a 2022 Prius Prime XLE like me.

There are many things I like about this dash cam. First it was extremely easy to install. There are numerous videos. Can you help if you have questions or concerns about the installation. It took approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Total time to install this unit. The second thing that I like about it is it gives the dash cam and OEM Look. There are no wire showing, and there were no wires to run up to the unit. Third of the quality of the images is 4K and they are outstanding quality. Even in low light, you get a high quality image. I included a short video showing a recording at low light. I would definitely buy this dash cam again I highly recommend it.

This product was easy to install and barely noticeable that is there. Not as likely for thieves to break into car and steal as a dash can that is stuck to the windshield. Some states have a requirement that a dash cam only be in the lower right hand corner on the passenger side of the windshield but this dash cam is not noticeable at all and looks to be the original equipment of the rearview mirror. The app is easy to setup and view the video on an android cell phone or remove the chip and review on a computer. It is just the type of cam for which I had been searching.
