i was blown away with how easy it was to install this head unit into my son’s 2010 honda fit. the wiring harness just plugged right in. there were a few reviews on other units that the antenna connector was incorrect, this was not an issue on this unit. basically i just removed the original unit and this one basically snapped right in.
NOTE: this honda does not have any steering wheel controls. so i cannot comment on that.
i was also blown away with the sound quality of the unit. i was expecting tinny crappy audio, but it was amazing good for this price!
the only issues were:
1. there is no where to mount the passenger air bag display. to me that’s not a big deal, but would be good to know. or make add a mount to the unit.
2. the backup camera is just a basic low (low low) end unit. i mounted it to the hatch by drilling 2 small holes just above the license plate and used sheet metal screws to attach the camera to the hatch. i then drilled a much larger hole behind the license plate to run the video/power cable through to the inside of the hatch so i can run the video cable up to the head unit. by far the hardest thing to install was the backup camera. but installation of the head unit was trivial.
