I am not quick to make any changes to my vehicle which involve taking apart the dash, messing with wiring or similar items – so I hesitated awhile before acquiring this dash cam. Finally after watching some videos on the installation of a similar product I took the plunge and got it. SO glad that I did. My install was on a 2019 Rav4 LE.
The kit has, in addition to the wiring harness for the rear view mirror installation another wire harness should you wish to mount it elsewhere. I’d suggest the mirror installation as it is a clean looking install like an OEM fit.
The mirror shroud above the rear view mirror detaches by pushing it forward towards the front of the vehicle and the new shroud with this dash cam slides right back in after you attach the two orange clips from the original to it.
I found the picture quality to be nice and the software not difficult to set up. I have access to it from both my phone and tablet. The date and time stamps are pretty much automatic with the set up.
