I checked the rear connection point and it was full of water. After undoing the connection water was dripping from the “camera side” of the connection point. The water seems to have entered the jacket of the wire, possibly where the “mirror on-off” wire is fed under the plastic housing of the connection point.
I have the camera installed on the crossbar of a ladder rack pointing down at the truck’s tow hitch, where there is no chance for the camera or connection point to be submerged.

I bought this as a “last minute” purchase before I hopped on a plane and flew across the country to buy a bus that I’m now converting to an RV (“Skoolie”). As the video shows, I did a “temporary installation” in a Walmart parking lot – in about 30 minutes. This camera has a 49 foot cable – which is perfect for any LARGE vehicle. The image far exceeded my expectations – very bright, “crystal clear” images. This camera paid for itself – several times over – on my drive across the country by preventing me backing into a Rolls Royce – among other things. I will be permanently mounting it in my bus, and adding side and front cameras.

Have had the camera installed on my dump truck for about a year and I can say that it works very well. Night vision works well. The camera will glare in the sun. I think most will. I have guide lines turned off. Can flip picture and has sound. I’d buy again.

This was quite easy to set up (though this is not my first time installing one of these). The screen is a decent size and easy to see even in bright sunlight but the resolution leaves a lot to be desired even if it gets the job done fine . We don’t particularly like the look of the unit in terms of the UI (old school buttons that don’t feel terribly good) and it doesn’t look terribly elegant but for the price, it is what it is.
When it comes down to it, this is perfectly good as a barebones inexpensive rear camera.
