Fits right in with very minor modification to the area around the cup holder mounts. My 2007 SLK 350 had the basic Audio 20 unit w/ changer in the glovebox + Sirius radio. I used the Xtrons harness that had the least wires on the small pin area (just small red and white,) and had to remove the harness section attached to the original radio (removed the optical lines to the changer (Sirius?). The car harness below the radio interfaces with the Xtrons harness. I also ordered (from Dashcamera.us.com) a double usb hub that replaces my lighter unit which allows a clean way to get the Xtrons usb/ Android Auto line in a place that looks like the car came that way. 4 stars because again, no info on installation/ which harness to use…

I purchased and installed the unit. A major drawback and why I am not giving five stars is the lack of information on installing the unit in the car. Luckily, my installation went very well in my 2005 Mercedes-Benz Slk 350. I did have to research the internet to find which wiring harness I need to use and which series of wires needed to be plugged into the back of the head unit. The installation did require the removal of the drink holder and the removal of the to mounting brackets for the holder on the center vent. Other than that, the installation was all plug and play. Figuring out what to plug in and where to plug it is the true challenge. There are so many options, many that I did not use, that the wires get very intimidating. I am sure I will have to make some edits in my installation after I figure out if something is not working as it should. The construction of the unit is solid and it fits perfectly. I love the performance I am getting. One major plus it that the version of Google running on the unit allows for the use of the complete playstore app. I did contact XTRONS customer service and they did respond. Unfortunately my questions were answered but there was definitely a loss in translation. I will update as I use the unit more. So far I am extremally pleased and would recommend the unit.

Cons:
Wiring is easy, but it comes with a few harnesses, and no instructions, so you need to figure out which one to use, or if you’re not included to DIY, take it to a installer.
Pros:
Perfect fit on the console, it integrates with the car computer, and it does steering wheel controls to function, and other notifications from the car, like door open, as the picture shows.
Decent audio output and quality.
