   I recently purchased this dash cam with high hopes, as it seemed like a great option for my 2024 Toyota Tacoma. The camera itself looks solid, and I was impressed with the features and picture quality in the product description. However, when it arrived, I found that the assembly didn’t match the setup for my truck. The mounting brackets and installation components were different from what was needed for my 2024 Tacoma, which made installation impossible. It seems they shipped the wrong assembly, which was disappointing.

   Although the product itself seemed like it would’ve been great, the mismatch in the parts led me to return it. I hope the seller can correct this issue in the future, as I would’ve loved to use this dash cam. For now, I’m on the lookout for a more compatible option for my vehicle.

   I’ve owned two different fitcamx dashcams. One on my ram 1500 and another on my 2024 tacoma. They’re easily the best dashcams. High quality video and the way it’s hidden in the rear view mirror console is genius.

   Tried for 45 minutes. The included Y splitter is very bulky, and while I FINALLY did get it in place, it felt like it was on the verge of snapping the OEM clips (which you move over from your existing install) every second of the process. I’m sure they saved half a cent by not including those clips. Once installed, I was able to view the preview screen after a session of Android Auto fighting for the Wifi connection, since connecting to the camera to enroll it doesn’t see the internet, so your phone keeps freaking out and dropping the connection, and you flip it back, and it fights you.

   Now that it’s all on there, I assume it will work nicely, but time will tell.

   Camera records to SD card but will not connect to the app from an iPhone still debating on returning this unit as it’s coming for China. Depending on if I can get the Wi-Fi to Work I may change the rating

   Would not recommend. So many issues with the product. I’ve had this for about a month now. I got it for my 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-road. I’ll start with the pros and there aren’t many. 1) it’s easy to install, plug and play. Can’t get any easier. App is easy to use as well. And that’s about it. Cons: 1) it doesn’t record “when the car turns on”. I have to physically and manually connect it to WiFi EVERY time I get in the truck. 2) adding to having to manually connect to WiFi it won’t let you use car play because you have to turn off Bluetooth. I found a way around it where I’m plugging my phone in and I can have car play and the camera going at same time. 3) the quality is horrible. Just watch the video I posted. This is pretty much how it looks every time I connect. Buffing, froze, pixilated. Just bad quality film. 4) Took a 5 hour drive to mammoth and the app forced closed about 4 times.

   A lot of these cons are stated in the description, they are just easy to over look. All the reviews are so “great”. Hopefully this product works better for you.
