   I swapped out my 2018 Highlander’s old system for this 10-inch Android head unit, and wow, what a difference! The screen is super responsive, the sound’s amazing, and CarPlay works flawlessly. The GPS and Bluetooth make it so much easier to navigate and make calls hands-free. Install was easy too. This upgrade made my ride feel like a new SUV! Totally worth it.

   I got it because I saw a video on how easy it is to replace an OEM unit with this device. Moreover it is made specifically for Highlander 2014-2019 model years so it’s compatible with media controls located on the steering wheel. It fits perfectly to my 2019 Highlander LE. It has more connectors than I have in this lower trim. But they are all different so it’s easy to figure out what connects to what. It takes less volume than the original unit. This is because most of the functionality is rendered on your phone.and plus it doesn’t have a CD player which I never used anyway. It connects to the phone via Bluetooth and/or Wifi. You can send maps for navigation, stream music or videos (while not driving) to a bigger screen, update firmware. GPS navigation gives you a lot more information than on a small phone screen. Clocks are synced up with your phone. Bluetooth is not that intrusive and buggy as on the original unit.

   Update: 12/9/24 I paid to have it installed and the unit only kind of works. The controls do not work and the back up camera is messed up & not functional.
   The screenshots in the manual don’t match what happens on screen and the back of the unit is different. I am having to buy something else. I wish I had never gotten this!
   Original: This is for the j Junsun Car Radio for Toyota Highlander 2014-2019, Built-in Carplay/Android Auto,Android Head Unit 4G RAM 64GROM with WiFi GPS Navigation Bluetooth Steering Wheel Control. I have a 2019 Highlander and am excited to get this installed so I can have that wireless access via CarPlay (or Android Auto). I thought the manual had installation instructions, but it turns out it only had connections on a couple of things, not a how-to at all for a DIYer. I’d thought about doing this as a DIY, but with so little information given with the unit, and knowing how much I’d have to look up and learn, I decided to have this installed instead. I wouldn’t suggest it as a DIY unless you have time to look up how-tos that are not provided. I took it in for installation only to find out that they’re backed up and cannot do it this week. However, he took the unit out to look at it, and stated he was familiar with the set up, which made me feel good. If there are any issues, I’ll update this, but I’m not expecting any.    This product is very well made and feels solid and durable while handling. The screen on the product is a pretty good size (10 inches) and provides a bright, clear picture that’s very easy to see while driving. The touchscreen has also been very responsive and accurate to the touch. The product is able to open new programs quickly and doesn’t lag or otherwise take too long, even right after you start the car up. The product’s wireless connection with my phone has also been very solid and plays my music at a high quality.

   Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend.

   This is a must-have if you’re also stuck with the Toyota navigation system. We hated the upkeep and updates of the old system and since installing this one it’s no problem to be on a real system with real live-time reroutes and every other advantge of android auto. Great update.
