The unit works very well. It connects to my Android phone using the wireless Android auto without a problem. It has the android play store where you can download apps including video apps. You can stream videos on the unit if you use your phone as a hotspot. There’s also a noticeable sound improvement. I had the basic Toyota radio with the Toyota speakers and sound was really subpar. However, with this head unit the sound is way better. It also has a graphic equalizer that you can customize to your liking or pick the preset equalizations.

My Highlander’s stereo touchscreen had an accident about a year ago and got busted. I got this for a replacement and it took my brother (a bus mechanic) about 3 hours to install. He didn’t install the backup camera as we thought it would work with the one already installed (but alas, it didn’t.). It works great with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and connects to CarPlay with no hitches or glitches. So happy to have my playlists back instead of the radio! This saved me literally THOUSANDS in a Toyota replacement (dealership gave me a quote of $7K to replace the stock one, YOWZA!). And I personally think it looks better than the JBL stock one that broke. Works well with my JBL stock speakers too.
And no, I didn’t need to purchase a dash kit to install.
Overall very happy with it and the price tag is about right. I highly recommend!
