Was able to install it, the stereo worked well enough, but Android Auto was finicky at best and unable to connect a majority of times. (Samsung S24+) When it did connect, response was snappy. The bezel was an okay fit, but you had to snap the stereo in at the same time as the top bar or it wouldn’t fit at all with the tabs and edges out of order or unable to fit around the screen. When I tried to drive – that’s when the trouble happened… it started, I got out of the driveway and went into Drive and the hybrid CVT transmission went bonkers… trying to shift back and forth all over the place like a new driver trying a stick for the first time. I was able to get around the block by putting the car in manual sport mode to take the stereo back out again. Even after putting the original stereo back in, my performance is touchy and my check engine light is now on forcing me to take it to the dealer to check it out soon. In short – if you have anything other than a basic car model with a normal automatic, don’t even waste the time trying.

I replaced the stock head unit in my 2017 RAV4 with this and I was surprised by how much of an improvement this is over stock. The list of features is impressive and the increase in speaker wattage made a dramatic improvement in the sound quality of my aftermarket speakers. Novice installers might find the directions to be a challenge but anyone with a bit of experience would likely find it easy to install. Harnesses for any variety of stock setup are included so you’ll end up with some unused harnesses. The canbus integration is perfect out of the box – my steering wheel buttons work like stock. I used my existing stock backup camera (plug and play with included harnesses – no splicing of wires, 12V to 6V transformers, or extra harnesses required) and the head unit has options to control the guidance cues from both the stock camera and the head unit’s overlay. I added a sub while I did the change out. The amount of control this head unit has over sound output is impressive. I had a couple of installation questions and received some excellent customer service through the company’s WhatsApp number. Overall a huge improvement over stock and a great value.
